## Abstract A mass transfer model based on unsteady state mass balance over the concentration boundary layer, coupled with back transport resulting from the stirring action, opposing ultrafiltrate flux, has been developed in the present study. This model uses semi‐infinite consideration to solve th

✦ Synopsis
Is 1968, the idea of organizing a symposium on digital simulation of continuous processes was raised in the Automarion Research Imtitute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and in the Hungarian National Committee of IFAC. In addition to the ~eral and growing s~,nificance of the subject, the idea was inspired by some Hungarian r'¢,ults in the field and also by the success of the 1968 Budapest IFAC Symposium on Pulse-Rate and ~Number S~m~l~ in Automatic Control.
The basic aim of the symposium was formulated as "to summarize recent advances in the mathematical modelling of large continuous industrial systems for process control applications". The main areas to cover were: general philosophy of modelling and simulation, steady state and
