elcome to the 1995 III-Vs Review International Directory of Suppliers. We have received a record turn-out of companies wishing to participate. Entry was FREE but you had to complete a questionnaire. This year this was faxed to our database of companies and we received over 130 entries. Arranged in alphabetic order these are essentially verbatim and "as-received". Some editing and trimming to fit was necessary but we have tried to include as much information as possible.
This directory is intended as a service to readers to help you get the best choice for materials, equipment and services. We hope that you will keep a copy handy and use it as the reference we intend it to be.
We would suggest, however, that you check directly with the supplier concerned for any claim or promise made in the Directory. It is not our intention that inclusion here is to recommend or promote any individual product or service. We simply wish to include as many suppliers as possible so we can show as much as possible of the range currently on offer.
We have been publishing directories of suppliers for some time now and the number of suppliers still remains just about as high as ever. That often predicted "shake out" seems as elusive as ever. Readers can buy their materials, substrates and epiwafers, equipment, etc. from a host of suppliers. In many cases it seems that supply still exceeds demand with some newcomers too.
Of course, we have to draw a line somewhere and we chose to not pursue any device suppliers or foundries. This information will be found in our issue next year.
This year again we invited companies to send their entries by email. This medium is currently very high profile and it now seems more in vogue with suppliers. Email is, however, most common amongst the "customers", i.e. the academe. We still received about a tenth of our entries by email and the majority by fax.
We have tried to include as many companies as possible but if we have missed your company this time we are pleased to receive your details for next time: deadline is June 1st 1996.
