✦ Synopsis

Single-mode dielectric resonator antennas (DRA) can achieve around 5-dB gain. To achieve a more directive pattern, a Yagi-Uda arrangement is proposed. To avoid using many DRA elements, the elements are made of one piece and the elements are connected through a small nick comprised of the same materials. The antenna is placed on a ground plane and excited by a coaxial probe. The radiation patterns shows that the radiation patterns become more directive and the an-tenna gain is increased, as compared to the single-disc resonator.
