β¦ Synopsis
The directional resonant secondary emission of a semiconductor microcavity is investigated. Exciting the lower polariton branch, a directional emission on a ring is observed. The coherent emission ring shows a reduction of its angular width for increasing time, a direct evidence for the timeenergy uncertainty in the disorder scattering dynamics. The ring width is decreasing down to an intrinsic width given by the polariton disorder scattering.

The spin dynamics of cavity polaritons, in the non-linear regime, present a novel and striking behaviour of the degree of polarization of photoluminescence. It reaches its maximum value at a finite time after excitation with a light pulse, and is strongly influenced by the exciton-cavity detuning. I
We present coherent control experiments which simultaneously probe both the coherence and the population dynamics of the exciton-photon polariton states in a semiconductor microcavity. The coherent manipulation of either the spin orientation or the density of polaritons is demonstrated leading to th
