## Abstract The benzannulation reactions of substituted 3โ€alkoxycarbonylโ€3,5โ€hexadienoic and 3โ€alkoxycarbonylhexโ€3โ€enโ€5โ€ynoic acids offer a straightforward access to various polysubstituted aromatic compounds. The process is very flexible, and can be applied to the regiospecific preparation of olig
