β¦ Synopsis
Methane oxidation using La 0.8 Sr 0.2 Fe 0.9 Co 0.1 O 3 perovskite oxide as the oxygen carrier in the absence of gaseous oxygen was explored. Continuous flow reaction indicated that the La 0.8 Sr 0.2 Fe 0.9 Co 0.1 O 3 perovskite oxide can provide oxygen species to oxidize CH 4 to synthesis gas with high selectivity in the absence of gaseous oxygen. Under the appropriate reaction conditions, production of synthesis gas by sequential redox cycles over the La 0.8 Sr 0.2 Fe 0.9 Co 0.1 O 3 perovskite oxide was possible. Oxygen species can be replenished by gaseous oxygen, but the structural stability and oxygen supply decreased with further redox reaction over the La 0.8 Sr 0.2 Fe 0.9 Co 0.1 O 3 oxide.
