✦ Synopsis
In this case photobromindtion was carried out in the presence of small amounts of AcONa to neutralize HBr developed during the reaction, becduse. under irradiation. HBr promoted a fast protodesilylation of the starting benzyltrimethylsilane. Addition of AcONa had no effect on the product composition of the photobromination of 1 in AcOH.
