The Drosophila expanded (ex) gene encodes a product (Ex) that shares homology with the Protein 4.1 family of proteins, many of which are enriched at specific lateral cell junctions and the apical cellular domain. Ex colocalizes with actin in the apical domain of imaginal disc epithelial cells, where

β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
A simple technique is described which allows the number of cells in the imaginal discs of Drosophila melanogaster to be determined directly, by dissociation of the tissue into single cells. This technique was used to determine the growth rates for the eyeβantenna, wing, leg, and haltere discs during the second and third larval instars. The results obtained for the number of cells present at particular stages and for the growth rates during this period are similar to those determined previously using either indirect or more tedious procedures.

Although similar patterns of expression have previously been reported in the original P[lacZ] enha
## Abstract A method using dimensionless shape factors for the determination of linear growth rates of crystals is described. The relevant shape coefficients are assessed on the basis of properly selected linear parameters of the crystal.
## Abstract It has been proved that the dependence of the growth rate __V__ of a LPE GaAs layer on the relative supersaturation Ο of the solution at the interphase boundary can be determined on the basis of growth rate measurements of this layer in the case when crystallization is controlled by the
The rate of the reaction (1) NO + HOz + OH + NO2 was determined in an isothermal discharge flow reactor with a combined ESR-LMR detection under pseudo-first-order conditions in HOz. The rate constant was identical in experiments with two different HOn sources: F + H202 and H + 0 2 + M. The absolute
