✦ Synopsis

A direct cerimetric determination of teUurium(IV) is reported. The determination can be accomplished either in hot l-5 M sulphuric or l-2 M nitric acid medium in the presence of ruthenium(II1) as catalyst. Direct self-indicating end point titration can be carried out with standard solutions of ammonium cerium(IV) sulphate and ammonium cerium(IV) nitrate as oxidants in the sulphuric and nitric acid media, respectively. The method is also extended to the analysis of teUurium(VI)-telhuium(IV) mixtures.
