✦ Synopsis

Light-induced radical production and transformations were investigated by ESR at 77Β°K in pure ethanol and in ethanol solutions of 2-amkopyrimidine, proflavine and diphenylarnine. Differences in the ESR spectra are explained by different yields of light-induced radica! transformations

The primary radical species formed by photosensitization and by direct UV bond splitting are su_egested to be the same.
