✦ Synopsis
Transition energies and radiative and radiationless transition rates for argon ions Ar 9+ to Ar 16+ have been calculated in the Dirac-Fock approximation, including quantum-electrodynamic corrections, for deexcitation to the ground configuration of all levels in the 1s 2s 2 2 p n (n = 0, . . . , 6), 1s 2s 2 p n (n = 1, . . . , 6), and 1s 2 p configurations. These data are of interest in the interpretation of x-ray spectra originating from plasmas in tokamaks, ion sources, and ion traps and from astrophysical plasmas.
