## Abstract Electric stimulation of the median nerve at the wrist evokes a series of electric potentials that can be recorded from the scalp or directly from the cortex. These somatosensory evoked potentials (SEP) include a parietal negativity with a maximum 20 ms after the stimulus, which originat
