✦ Synopsis

We propose a definitive expression for the electrostatic energy of an aggregate of point charges with periodicity in a uniform background on the basis of the Yukawa interaction. Our expression leads to the disorder of elect,rostatic energies in terms of dimensions of periodicity when we correctly treat the long-range property of the Coulomb interaction. The order is recovered if the self energy is taken into account.
