✦ Synopsis
relations were obtained in methyl ethy'l ketone N.N'-dimethylformamide and dichlorethaue at 30 for {styrene acrylonitrilei alternating copolymer. The values of the unperturbed dimensions. [Ko or ff,-'/M) t 2] and conformational parameter a have been determined. using several graphical and semiempirical methods, and the resuhs were compared with the direct determinations in a 0 solvent. The best values for K0 were obtained using the methods of Stockmayer Fixman and lnagaki Suzuki Kurata. By comparing the values of a for polystyrene, polyacrylonitrile, random and alternating (styrene-acrylonitrile} copolymers, it is to be concluded that the short-range interactions do not markedly influence the chain dimensions in solutions for random and ahernating [styrene acrylonitrile) copolymers.
