✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Sorption isotherms show that epoxide prepolymers sorb water in increasing amounts as the temperature decreases and the water vapor concentration increases. Below T~g~ the behavior is typical of a Fickian transport combined with a relaxation process. Diffusion coefficients as function of sorption rates provide temperature shift factors from which the activation energy for diffusion is 35.3 KJ/mol. Combined effect of temperature and water concentration is described by a second order polynomial.

The curves display a quasi
Small molecules in glassy polymers are considered to occupy sites with a distribution of free energies of dissolution. Then their diffusivity depends on concentration and temperature in the same way as it has been derived for hydrogen atoms in metallic glasses. For hydrogen it was shown that the tra
## Abstract The current theoretical treatment of diffusion of gases in glassy polymers is based on the “dual sorption” model, but also includes certain other important assumptions, at least some of which cannot be fully justified __a priori__. They require experimental validation, which, however, i
