β¦ Synopsis
Experimental diffusivities of the alumina compared closely with those predicted by the Rothfeld effectiveness factor model and the Wakao and Smith random pore model. Data on the Vycor also checked the predictions contrary to the findings of others. A possible explanation may be due to the differences in pore structure. Modified equations were derived to extend the random pore model to special cases for diffusion of gases in porous media
