Abstract
A recently developed model for the prediction of pseudoβbinary MaxwellβStefan diffusion coefficients on the basis of a multicomponent approach applicable to binary associating and/or solvating systems is further examined. For this purpose two example calculations are added to illustrate and to answer the following questions: What are the capabilities and limits of the new model? How does the model actually compute binary diffusivities from a multicomponent approach? What information must be supplied by the user? How does the model perform on example calculations?

A statistical mechanical model is given for linear associating systems that contain defects, using the double-stranded actin polymer as an example. We treat the system as a one-dimensional lattice that can desorb monomers (giving defects) using grand partition function techniques. The main differenc

The mutual diffusivity of the partially miscible binary system acetonitrileβ__n__βheptane is found to be a strong funct
The moisture diffusion process of an epoxy system is studied as a function of epoxy-amine stoichiometry and the resulting microstructure. Differences in diffusion behavior are related to the relative importance of diffusion through the low-density and high-density microstructural phases for differen
