โฆ Synopsis
Diffusion coefficients have been measured of quasi Lorentzian mixtures of He and the noble gases Ne, Ar, Kr and Xe, in the temperature range from 237 to 420K. Good agreement is obtained with experimental data reported in. the literature. From the temperature dependence of Dn the thermal diffusion factor is predicted. These semi-empirical values agree very well with direct experimental determinations. Semi-quantitative agreement is obtained when comparing theoretical and experimental behaviour of the function [2 -(c~ In O,f~ ]

The relations between diffusion fluxes and the distribution function moments at the channel walls have been established for a multicomponent gas mixture flowing in a plane channel. The problems of barodiffusion and thermal diffusion in the binary mixture are discussed.
