For a system of reaction-diffusion equations with a small parameter e > 0, modelling spatio-temporal patterns arising in chemical systems, a Hopf-bifurcation of equilibrium solutions with a sharp internal transition layer is established. The Hopf-bifurcation is singular in the sense that it cannot b
