The dual coalgebra of Podleś' quantum sphere O q (S 2 c ) is determined explicitly. This result is used to classify all finite-dimensional covariant first-order differential calculi over O q (S 2 c ) for all but exceptional values of the parameter c.

Three-dimensional differential calculus on quantum spheres SZu~, # E ] -1, 1[{0}, c e [0, c~], is introduced and Investigated. Spectra of generalized Laplacians are found. These operators are expressed by generalized directional derivatives. Classical limits of these objects are obtained and a simple approach to quantum mechanics on a quantum sphere is presented.
