## Abstract ## Background Ganciclovir exhibits broad‐spectrum activity against DNA viruses such as cytomegaloviruses, herpes simplex viruses, varicella‐zoster virus, Epstein‐Barr virus and human herpes virus‐6. Ganciclovir is widely applied for anti‐herpetic treatment, cytomegalovirus prophylaxis
