The present study was conducted to assess the efficacy and safety of carvedilol 50 mg as compared to metoprolol 200 mg at rest and during and after a standardized bicycle ergometric exercise test. Carvedilol is a novel non-selective beta-blocker without intrinsic sympathomimetic activity possessing
