The hydrotreatment of t w o cracked Diesel f r a c t i o n s have been s t u d i e d using f r e s h and on " s t a d e s t a t e " c a t a l y s t s a t d i f f e r e n t p r e s s u r e and o p e r a t i n g condit i o n s . The e f f e c t of temperature, preasure, type of feedstock on c a t a l y s t act i v i t y and s e l e c t i v i t y were evaluated. Physicochemical a n a l y s i s of t h e c a t sl y a t war performed i n o r d e r t o i n v e s t i g a t e t h e changes i n t h e a c t i v e phases. I t was demonstrated that a c t i v i t y and s e l e c t i v i t y change during t h e i n i t i a l dea c t i v a t i o n of f r e s h c a t a l y s t by coke d e p o s i t i o n and a c t i v e c e n t e r modification.

The hydrogenation a c t i v i t y decreases mre than d e s u l f u r i z a t i o n which reduces t h e q u a l i t y o f products obtained. The higher t h e p r e s s u r e t h e lover t h e l o a s . I t was a l s o observed t h a t more than 70 0 of a c c e s s i b l e metal c o n t e n t i n s u r f a c e is l08Sed. Additionally, a c i d i t y and average pore diameter are increased by operation. Some a t r u c t u r a l modifications of a c t i v e phase are pootulated.
