✦ Synopsis

Dielectric Studies on Ba(NOs)O,

Single crystals of Ba(NO,), were grown by slow evaporation of aqueous solution. The dielectric constant ( 8 ) and loss (tan 6) have been measured in the frequency range of 100 Hz to 100 KHz at temperatures ranging from room temperature t o 400 "C. A.c. conductivity ( a ) is calculated from the data on E and tan 6. E , tan 6, and u were found t o show anomalies around 270 O C . The results are discussed in the light of order-disorder phase transition.
