✦ Synopsis
The DC conductivity and dielectric parameters of the glassy system of a-Se 96Àx Te 4 Ga x (x ¼ 0, 2, 4, 6 and 10) glasses have been investigated. The frequency and temperature dependence of the dielectric constants (e 0 ) and dielectric loss (e 00 ) is studied in the frequency range 120-100 kHz and in the temperature range 300-450 K. Dielectric dispersion is observed when Ga is incorporated in the a-Se-Te system. These results are explained on the basis of dipolar type dielectric dispersion. It is also observed that the DC conductivity and the activation energy increase on increasing the Ga content in this system.
