✦ Synopsis

Dielectric relaxation measurements are reported on a series of segmented polyurethane elastomers produced with mixtures of varying 1:3 and 1:4 butanediol as chain extender. The changes observed in the glass transition temperature, activation energies for dipolar relaxation and the nature of the dispersion for varying composition of the chain extender are discussed in terms of the extent of phase separation and the influence of the "hard" phase structure on the relaxation of the "soft" phase.
