The present 3rd edjtion qontains extensive changes of the regulations relating to the EPU and PCT and includes the hew decisions made by the chambers of appeal of the EPO. Almost entire chapters were revised in comparisgn to the second edition. The proven organization of the topic was retained in questions and answers. A total of 160 questions are dealt with in relation to the European patent examination procedures and structures, and the reader can check on his own knowledge by choosing from several answers. In the "Answers" section the case is discussed in depth and often commented in detail. The subject matter is divided into 12 chapters devoted to such aspects as calculating terms, continuing the examination, priority, request for examination and grants of the patents. Chapter 12 deals with EURO-PCT applications, in which the international and regional phases are discussed separately and detailed. The book is completed with a large supplement. To summerize, the present edition is a must, particularly to those practising and studying European patent law.
