✦ Synopsis

In England very clear weather favoured observations of the recent shower of Lyrids. Meteors were, however, rare except on the night of Sunday, April 2 1 , when the display attained a definite maximum though one of only moderate richness. About X I Lyrids per hour could be seen by one observer. This falls far below the ordinary strength of a Perseid shower when, on Aug. 1 0 or 11, about 60 or 7 0 meteors per hour may be counted.

At Bristol I observed the earliest Lyrids on April 18 and they formed a radiant at 266" +33". On April 2 0 Height 1901
