Abstract

The formation constants of the complexes HgCN+ and Hg(CN)~2~ have been evaluated by combining potentiometric measurements carried out with a mercury electrode, a glass electrode and a platinum electrode responding to the redox potential Hg^II^/Hg^I^. For the complexes Hg(CN)~3~‐ and Hg(CN)~4~^2−^ the formation constants can be obtained by the usual pH‐method.
