✦ Synopsis
The catalytic properties in H,O, decomposition of thc Cu2+-chelates of 2-Acetyl-3hydroxy-thiophene (I) and 3-Acetyl-4-hydroxy-thiophene (11) have been investigated. Evidence is given that the catalytic activity of the chelates is a function of the respective bond orders of the c(, p (I) and , ' 3, /3' (11) thiophene bonds of the chelate ring.
