✦ Synopsis

CPS Color appoints Stort to sell tinting systems

Effective 1 January 2005, CPS Color appointed Stort Chemicals as its exclusive agent and distributor of tinting systems marketed to the paint industry in the UK and Ireland. The appointment covers CPS Color's decorative and industrial colorants for paints and coatings, mixers and dispensers, colour marketing tools, and colour management software. Service engineers formerly employed by CPS Color UK have been transferred to Stort Engineering Services. These engineers carry out the necessary maintenance and repairs on CPS Color's Corob tinting machines and ancillary equipment. Stort Chemicals is already the exclusive distributor for EFKA additives and it also represents Ciba, Wacker Polymers, Sud Chemie AG and Progiven SA.

CPS Color was originally part of Tikkurila (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kemira, headquartered in Finland). CPS Color was floated off as an independent entity two years ago, with Kemira retaining a minority interest. Towards the end of last year, Kemira sold the last of its sharesrepresenting a 27% stake in CPS Color -the purchasers being the two major shareholders, Industri Kapital and MB Funds.
