✦ Synopsis
The the title compound [systematic name: 4-(2,2,4-trimethylchroman-4-yl)phenol-trichloroacetonitrile (6/1)], 6C 18 H 20 O 2 Á-C 2 Cl 3 N, the usual trigonal packing of the Dianin's compound host structure occurs. The guest is found in a host-guest ratio of 6:1. ClÁ Á Á interactions serve to order the guest, thus facilitating its structural characterization.

AbstractÐThe relationship of bulk properties of materials to the microscopic interactions of the moieties that comprise them is demonstrated by connecting the guest±host interactions of a series of crystals of Dianin's inclusion compounds to their bulk moduli of elasticity and linear compressibiliti
