This volume contains the proceedings of the Sixth International Symposium on Acoustical Holography and Imaging, held in San Diego, California, February 4-7, 1975. The six symposia have been held in, roughly 1% year intervals and have been attended by the leading researchers in the fields of acoustical holography and acoustic imaging.
The most recent symposia have demonstrated an increased emphasis on nonholographic acoustic images. In particular, the reports of investigators working in medical imaging problems have become more frequent. The 38 papers presented in this volume describe state-ofthe-art advances in acoustical imaging; ranging from microscopy, medical diagnostics, nondestructive testing, underwater viewing and seismology.
