✦ Synopsis

The title compound, [Cr 2 (CH 3 O) 2 (C 15 H 11 O 2 ) 4 ], was obtained from the reaction of [CrCl 3 (C 4 H 8 O) 3 ] with 1,3-diphenylpropane-1,3-dione and sodium methoxide in anydrous methanol. Its structure consists of discrete molecules, in which two centrosymmetrically related chromium(III) ions are bridged by two methoxide ligands and complete their octahedral coordination geometry with O atoms fromdiketonate molecules acting as ancillary ligands.
