Bufuralol, debrisoquine, and dextromethorphan are three prototype substrates of the common genetic deficiency of oxidative drug metabolism in man known as debrisoquine/sparteine-type polymorphism. We describe assays for the in vitro metabolism of (+)-and (-)-bufuralol, debrisoquine, and dextromethor
