✦ Synopsis
The general use of mass spectrometry for determining the mode of ester attachment in pyrrolizidine alkaloids is based on what appears to be an over simplification of complex fragmentation pathways, and seems to produce unreliable results when applied to macrocyclic pyrrolizidine alkaloids.

Benzoyl peroxide gave rise to benzoic acid (at m/z 122) in its electron impact mass spectrum, and its perdeuterated counterpart produced perdeuterobenzoic acid, Cp,C02D, at m/z 128 under the same conditions. An intramolecular hydrogen abstraction is proposed for the formation of benzoic acid from th
## Abstract A gas chromatographic/mass spectrometric/mass spectrometric method was developed for the determination of 5‐methoxyflavone in plasma. Optimized detection schemes for 5‐methoxyflavone readily allow a limit of quantification of 1 ng ml^−1^ in rat or dog plasma (1.0 ml sample volume). The
A method for the on-line determination of oxygen-18, at a naturally occurring level, in organic material is presented. After pyrolysis of the samples to form carbon monoxide, which is performed at 1300 ÄC in a vitreous carbon tube, the pyrolysis products are transported by a stream of helium gas. Us
