✦ Synopsis


The electroformation of thick hydrous mixed nickel-cobalt oxide films on a Ni-Co (40 mol%/ 60 mol%) alloy in alkaline solution have been studied . The films were obtained by the application of fast periodic square wave potential signals . The optimal characteristics of this treatment for growing the oxide layer are described . Thermal treatments were also applied to the resulting Ni-Co oxide film and the NiCo,O, oxide spine) was obtained . The characterization of these oxide electrodes of electrocatalytic interest were carried out by XPS, X-ray ditrractometry and cyclic voltammetry .
