β¦ Synopsis
A sensitive and specific radioimmunoassay for thromboxane B, has been developed. Thromboxane B, antiplasma was produced in rabbits by repeated immunization with thromboxane B, coupled to bovine serum albumin. [Y]labeled antigen with high specific activity was prepared by radioiodination of thromboxane B,-tyrosine methyl ester conjugate followed by purification with thin-layer chromatography. Thromboxane B, antiplasma cross-reacted less than 0.05% with PGD, or PGF2. and less than 0.01% with other prostaglandins, arachidonic acid, or endoperoxide analogs. The sensitivity of the assay was 5 pg per assay tube.
