Based on driver's intent and driving conditions assumed by fuzzy logic inference, the integrated powertrain control system provides optimum power through the use of an electronically controlled throttle and adjustment of shift position. The system offers a shockless shift as well, by increasing or decreasing engine torque when shifting and improves fuel economy. ((-
