Wheat gluten/montmorillonite (WG/MMT) nanocomposite films were prepared by casting. Transmission electron microscopy observations showed that MMT nanoparticles were homogeneously distributed within the matrix but not completely exfoliated. Contact angles, water uptake and water vapour sorption measu
