The deutenum nuclear quadrupoie hyperfine sphttmg of the O(O.O)-1(0,1) pure rotahod tmnsit~on of benzene-d, has been observed wtth the help of a pulsed mtcrowave Founer transform spectrometer Mxrowave pulses wetly a power of up to 56 W have been apphed to the sample under low pressure and temperature From the observed sphtting the couplmg constant x0. = 223(12) kHz has been determined. The quadrupole couplmg tensor has been ca!culated by the ab uutm method. The experimental result compares well with the calculated values usmg hfferent bass sets
