Spin-lattice relaxation rates in the Tt triplet state of 9,lOanthraquinone dissolved in n-heptane and isooctane are measured in the temperature region 1.9 to 30 K using an excitation of phosphorescence by short flashes. The relaxation rates are determined from the tri-evponential decay curves measured with ;15 ~.rs resolution. The relaxation is found to be dnisotropic and the dominating rate to connect the two most short-lived sublevels. The tempcraturedepcndence of the relaxation rates is close to a T3 hw.
