✦ Synopsis

at a slow rate (20-30 drops/min) through a column of ZeoKarb-zz5 (10-15 g in the ammonium form). Collect the percolate, wash the resin several times with distilled water and add the washings to the percolate. Analyse the combined solution for antimony(II1) by the iodimetric method.

Elute the metal ion from the resin by passing aqueous hydrochloric acid (2-6 N) and analyse the eluate for the metal by a conventional method.

Hydrogen cyanide is liberated from aqueous samples by reaction with sulphuric acid and transferred by a stream of nitrogen to a silver porous membrane electrode. Some HCN passes through the membrane into an alkaline dicyanoargentate solution; the cyanide ion produced causes a decrease in the equilib
