โœฆ Synopsis

The purpose of this investigation was to discover why some of the spectral lines used in our method of spectrum analysis do not meet the requirements of reproducibility. While studying the origin of these lines it was found necessary to calculate their transition probability (reciprocal of lifetime), which proved that a relatively long lifetime is responsible for emission disturbances (collisions of the second kind).
