β¦ Synopsis
A capillary electrophoretic method for determining the six flavonoids in Scutellariae Radii i.e., baicalin, baicalein, wogonin 7-0-glucuronide, wogonin, oroxylin A 7-0-glucuronide and oroxylin A, was developed. A buffer solution composed of 20 mM sodium dodecyl sulphate, 10 mM sodium dihydrogenphosphate and 12.5 mM sodium borate was found to be the most suitable electrolyte for this separation, whereby the contents of the six flavonoids in crude Scutellariae Radix could easily be determined within about 25 min. The effects of surfactant concentration, pH and temperature on the migration behaviour of the solutes were studied.

A micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatographic (MEKC) method was developed for the simultaneous assay of six scute flavonoids (baicalin, wogonin 7-0-glucuronide, oroxylin A 7-0-glucuronide, baicalein, wogonin and oroxylin A) and four coptis alkaloids (berberine, palmatine, coptisine and epiberb
