β¦ Synopsis
Red blood cell count and haemoglobin content for blood of normal adult salamanders, Taricha granulosa, are presented. The RBC count is some 4 x lV/mm3 blood and the haemoglobin level some 4.5 gm/lOO ml blood. Some evidence suggesting transient changes in these levels for a brief period immediately following hibernation is discussed.
