The Cl, exitalion spectrum of the double-we11 Z3il, stale is investigaled using synchrotron radiation and leads IO a threshold ar 8266 eV_ The processes of relaxation and tunneling between the inner and cwer ~9s were calculared and a proposed mechaniim for the resulting UV emission is discussed.
