✦ Synopsis


Stable P-eyclodextrin inclusion complexes with radical anions of thirteen different nitrobenzenes have been generated by chemical reduction in 50% aqueous ethanol. The inclusion complexes have been found to give well-resolved ESR spectral features, especially in the central portions associated with the vanishing 14N nuclear spin component. The high resolution obtained permits the estimation of the small hyperfine coupling constants in the guest radicals due to deuterons and alkyl substituents.
