Polycarbonate foils with thicknesses from 0.08 to 2.5 mm containing Ti, Cr, Fe and Ba were analysed by energy-dispersive x-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) spectrometry. Neutron activation analysis (NAA) was used to validate the EDXRF results. The element concentrations ranged for Ti from 0.04 to 0.75%, for

β¦ Synopsis
Biopsy samples taken from cervical cancer patients after intraarterial and intravenous administration of Cisplatin were analyzed by the energy-dispersive (x)-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) method. Distribution of platinum ( (\mathrm{Pt})) within the tumor and in its proximity was studied. Pt concentration seems to depend on the mode of administration. Intraarterial administration of Cisplatin resulted in seven times higher Pt concentration in the tumor tissue than the intravenous administration. EDXRF proved to be a useful tool for the determination of Pt in biopsy tissues. 1995 Academic Press. Inc.
