✦ Synopsis


A study of the path-integral method to compute the eigen¨alues in two-dimensional wa¨eguides is presented. The frequencydomain fields are computed by the path-integral method in the longitudinal and trans¨erse directions in wa¨eguides containing a delta-function source. The frequency-domain field is then Fourier transformed to determine its eigen¨alue spectrum. Spectrum peak ¨alues are compared with the analytically calculated eigen¨alues. Results are gi¨en for a parallel-plate wa¨eguide and for a dielectric slab guide.
